Flexible Employment and Zero-Hour Contracts
Wyboston Lakes Resort employs a proportion of its workforce on zero-hour contracts, in alignment with the flexible needs of the hospitality and events industry. These contracts support operational agility, especially during peak periods, large-scale events, and seasonal shifts.
We are committed to ensuring that all such arrangements are handled fairly, transparently, and with full respect for our team members. All zero-hour agreements are formalised through written contracts, and working hours are communicated in advance. Team members are under no obligation to accept shifts and may seek additional employment if they wish.
Zero-hour roles are part of our wider inclusivity and workforce development strategy. They provide accessible employment opportunities to students, parents, retirees, and those seeking flexible work arrangements. All team members — regardless of contract type — receive the Real Living Wage, statutory holiday pay, and access to team benefits, learning pathways, and mental health support services.
In line with our values, we encourage and support team members who wish to move from zero-hour contracts into more stable or permanent positions. We provide clear internal pathways for this transition.
We believe that flexible work should never come at the cost of fairness or well-being and are committed to evolving our practices in line with ethical standards, employee feedback, and sector best practices.
